Over the past week, I have written repeatedly about Yuval Lenvin’s new book, American Covenant. I encourage those who want to help their country to read his book and get involved locally. However, I understand that with busy work and family lives, sitting down to read a book about political theory might not reach the top of a parent’s priority list.
So, I wanted to provide other options for busy parents who want more information about our political system. Today, I have two podcast recommendations.
Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what podcast you can listen to to help your country.
The first is Understanding Congress, hosted by Politics and Parenting guest and AEI senior fellow Kevin Kosar. In episode 48, he interviews Michael Johnson, Author of Fixing Congress: Restoring Power to the People. They discuss the problems that plague Congress, like a failing incentive structure, and what reforms are needed to restore the people’s power.
The second recommendation is Conversing with Mark Labberton with guest Yuvall Levin. In this episode, Labberton interviews Levin about his new book, American Covenant. Levin shares about his faith and how it’s helped him study the Constitution. They also discuss balancing majority and minority rights, what national unity looks like, and how Congress needs incentives to encourage debate.
If you listen, please share your thoughts or questions on the podcasts by dropping me an email or leaving a comment.
